How We Rate Brands
We’re a start-up looking to help empower consumers to become conscious consumers through a better understanding of the effects of their consumption on the planet.
Our vision is to collaborate with individuals and organisations in order to create an open source database and framework that can be peer-reviewed and help consumers access ratings for all brands and assist independent brands to start their journey to Net Zero.
We hold our hands up and admit we don’t have all the answers! That’s why we encourage you to get in contact and help us to fill gaps in our knowledge, climate change can only truly be addressed through a collaborative approach with all parties.
Our Green Ratings
We are planning to incorporate an environmental rating system over the coming months. This rating system will be produced in partnership with 3rd party organisations and individuals. As it develops, this rating system will use an algorithm that will allow us to prioritize the ranking of the most sustainable brands over others.
Our Green Badges
We have launched our Green Badge system (for applicable brands) to help you find brands matching the precise environmental values you are looking for. These badges are based on information published by each brand and or by any organisations they may be related to.
The idea is for you to do you shopping through any of our partners, even if they have not yet started their transition to becoming a greener company. By doing so we will re invest the profits made through each transaction into helping those partners towards a greener future.
For existing brands that have already been onboarded, we are currently processing all published brands with any qualifying badges.
If you are a brand partner and wish to make any changes to your profile or would like to inform us of any suitable sustainable criteria useful for your profile, simply contact us.
Our Green Badges:

The brand has started their journey to address their CO2 impact on the environment. This is likely to include activities like publishing an environment policy with some actual impact statements they have delivered, planting trees or carbon offsetting. We do ask brands to demonstrate they have moved towards becoming a carbon neutral brand with 24 months or be removed under this category.

A brand totally committed to decarbonisation, and the neutralization of their remaining impact through the support of environmental projects. This is usually done by reducing their emissions and investing in offsetting projects that absorb the remaining carbon they can’t reduce themselves. We continuously reassess a brands suitability to be in this category.

Green Offerings
You should offer any of these offering to a significant level. Must have a well defined publicly available policy, certified by at least one certification organization (where possible) and is not deemed to be green washing by our team.
Our Process
We use information published by brands online and on their websites to determine the criteria they meet for our Green badge system. In order to help us avoid helping brands to green wash, we will also use 3rd party data on brands in addition to using our judgment if the information published is not transparent enough for us to award a green badge.
We endeavour to continuously assess the sustainability of any brands within our badge and ratings system and will remove any brands from the system without notice and hold them accountable for failing to live up to their promises.

While we support all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, our focus is to specifically help achieve goals 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production & 13 – Climate Action. Our mission is to raise funds through your shopping to address these specific goals.
